Rob, your last paragraph is the crux of the issue here: only if sufficient numbers of Republican legislators are elected will this insanity be mitigated. Nothing else matters in Vermont in this election. It is very sad good people are forced to leave the state, since that just leaves here a larger proportion of people electing the Dems/Progs.
I absolutely think that is what a great many people think in this state. I've been in hundreds of people's home as a home health nurse over the last 16 or so years. Spending approximately one hour or more at each visit. Places where I thought the floor was very dark mahogany only to move a small piece of furniture and find blond oak underneath. (I never sat down in that house) Or where the Butler's pantry was bigger than my kitchen and dining combined. What motivates them is feeling virtuous. They have no religion except climate/environment or "good works" so therefore they both lack someplace to put their inherent faith and the desire to save someone.
