I fear that in truth his presence in the governors seat gives the radicals the ability to project an impression that VT’s divided government has some guardrails, giving them permission to go to the absolute extreme. Unfortunately I can’t think of a single major issue where Scott has been an effective moderating force against the radicals’ worst desires. But he sure helps give low information voters the false impression that he’s working to help the do just that.
I often wonder that Phil Scott is governor. It must be that our crazy-left constituency secretly wants a "daddy" to keep them out of the deep end.

Controlled opposition? Might be. The Governor doesn't expend much effort helping down-ticket Republicans.
