The headline in VT Digger read, “Officials issue warnings about flood-related scams,” and, “Natural disasters make people more vulnerable to scams.” Surely, they do, and Vermonters should indeed be on the lookout for those praying on people’s fears and emotions in the wake of the tragic flooding so many areas of our state are experiencing.
I know I am preaching to the choir here but at some point maybe it will sink in to voters in all these flooded towns who keep the dems/progs in control in the Legislature. Until they no longer have a veto-proof, nothing will change. And as a corollary to why these policies in Montpelier are so destructive to our state I encourage you to listen to this Jordan Peterson conversation with energy advocate Robert Bryce.
"Ping-pong and carry on" is everywhere in Vermont. Phil Scott can volley/veto all he wants. We're still left with a supermajority that's only interested in playing games. That's what bullies do.
Governor Scott deserves this humiliation. He's done nothing for Republicans in the legislature. He's made himself into a helpless victim of a governor.
We need a little less "love is love" and a little more "This is Sparta!" from him.
VPIRG assured me in an email after the flooding started that they would make big oil pay for the damage.........
That didn't take long, did it! "Send us your money and we'll make big oil pay!"
Received July 10 and again on July 11.
